I am neurodivergent (autistic) solo traveller and am sensitive to noise and heat so will be reviewing from that perspective. I thought the location of the hotel was good. Relatively quick and easy to find from Nagano station and within walking distance to tourist sites like Zenkoji Temple (or just walking to station for day trips elsewhere). The entrance was nice and welcoming. You can borrow umbrellas for free which was great for the rain and snow I experienced. The staff also spoke good English and were friendly and welcoming. Both check in and check out processes are easy and quick, and I could leave my baggage there during the day after checkout for a later pickup which was handy. The room itself was good. Nice sized bedroom and bed, with a window you can open to outside if you want some fresh air, although it can be pretty noisy so may not work for you. There's also good heating and air-conditioning, as well as a super warm doona so that's good. The onsen was quite nice on the male side, with an outside onsen available that is quite interesting to experience when it's also snowing outside. Pretty cool highlight. You also get a free ice-cream or probiotic yoghurt the onsen after visiting depending on when you visit. The noise from other rooms and outside was ok. Didn't have any issues myself and found it quite good. Just make sure to close your sliding door panel thing so you don't hear the fan noise from bathroom. Wifi/internet was also really good and worked well.

Dormy Inn Nagano was a great surprise, it was the last hotel of a two-week trip with great hotels and traditional Ryokans, we picked this one based on the location (3 min walking from the Nagano Train Station)! However, to our surprise they had an amazing Onsen (spa) experience on the rooftop + the breakfast was really amazing + the staff super kind (as always in Japan). We didn’t try, but they also offered a complementary Ramen after 9:30pm! Would definitely recommend!

Dormy Inn Nagano exceeded our expectations! The breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of choices—mostly Japanese/Asian dishes, but also some Western options like mini croissants. The onsen was another highlight: a cozy and relaxing space, with the added bonus of free ice cream and massage chairs—perfect after a long day of exploring. Our room was simple but spacious by Japanese standards, and the beds were very comfortable (Western pillows available).

The Onsen was fantastic for being in a hotel, with lots of extra amenities like ice cream after the bath or lot of very good toiletries and free stuff. The water was nicely hot and relaxing, beautiful onsen area. The staff was very nice. The hotel is located close to the central station, but (like usual in Japan) very safe area, lots of restaurants around. I didn't have the breakfast, but it looked good.

Great hotel only minutes from Nagano Station. The Onsen on the 11th floor was fantastic and has both indoor and outdoor baths all free to use by guests. The staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfast buffet which included tempura prawns was very good. There is a free coffee and juice station in the foyer and a seven eleven next door. Perfect.
